Let me start by saying thank you for the Daily Deviation. It means a lot to me. I also wanted to congratulate you on your bravery and willingness to see past the 1st dimension. I can safely say, without fear of contradiction that this photograph was meant to be provocative. Meant to be funny. Meant to confuse and meant to outrage. As was to be expected, it was met with reactions as broad as the spectrum of human frailty itself. I remember seeing Robert Mapplethorpe's work for the first time in NYC years ago and it sparked similar outrage, (on a much larger scale). If I wanted it to look like porn, I would have overlit it like porn, but it was the zeitgeist. The fact that I lit it similarly to an old Gucci ad and let the talent be themselves. That is the photographers central job. To capture the essence of their subject, while painting their own stroke of color over it. These women are in fact adult stars, and very successul ones. They did their moves and I did mine. I'm happy with the collaboration and consider the shoot, and the commentary (positive and negative) a success. Thank you once again. All the best, Scott M.
